DRUG AND ALCOHOL
The Company prohibits the unlawful use, sale, dispensing, transfer, or possession of controlled substances, substances not medically authorized or any other substance that may impair an employee’s work performance or pose a hazard to the individual, public, or employees of the Company on its property or at any of its activities. The Company reserves the right to submit to a drug test any employee who it has a reasonable suspicion is in violation of this policy. If an employee is found to be in violation of this policy, then he or she may be subject to discipline, up to and including termination. The moderate use of alcohol at Company approved meetings, with business meals, travel, entertainment or in an appropriate social setting, is not prohibited by this policy.
Employees may contact the Company Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to seek help anonymously for alcohol or other chemical dependency. The EAP provides education, encouragement, and referral services for assessment and rehabilitation for these and other personal matters. Employees who are struggling with drug or alcohol issues are encouraged to seek help before they are determined to have violated Company rules. To that end, self-referrals to the EAP will be kept confidential, and employees who seek voluntary rehabilitation prior to a violation of Company rules will not be disciplined for seeking help through the EAP. Once a violation of Company rules has occurred, however, a request for rehabilitation assistance shall not serve to waive the Company’s right to take appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to resolve the situation.

All employees are subject to this provision, including contract workers and temporary employees as well as visitors and customers on Company property. A license to carry the weapon on Company property does not supersede Company policy. Any employee in violation of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Company property is defined as all Company-owned or leased buildings and surrounding areas such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways and parking lots under the Company’s ownership or control. An employee who is charged with a crime is required to report that fact immediately to his / her supervisor, manager, or Human Resources. Likewise, a supervisor or manager who learns that an employee has been charged with a crime should immediately notify Human Resources.
Upon investigation of the relevant facts and circumstances, a determination will be made by management as to the appropriate action to be taken. Criminal misconduct that is deemed to be inconsistent with the Company’s responsibility to protect the security of its employees, guests, and clients or to maintain the integrity of Company operations may result in a disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Under certain circumstances, including those in which an employee is charged with a criminal offense, the Company reserves the right to immediately suspend the employee without pay until the final disposition of the charge.
